Poll: Is 18 Too Young for Botox?

I must say, I was a little shocked when I read on LimeLife.com that in 2009 12,110 anit-wrinkle treatments were performed on patients under the age of 18 and what's worse this number is increasing!

Where could an 18 year old possibly have wrinkles and who are the parents that would sign off for those under the age of 18 to have the procedures?

While anti-wrinkle treatments for the unwrinkled may seem absurd, this is a growing trend in western society as predominately girls are seeking flawless perfection by whatever means necessary.

Diet Blog has written a lot about all the dangerous things girls do to their bodies to become thin and now it seems the same thing is true for their faces as they are using Botox to get that flawless, airbrushed look they see gracing so many magazines.

However, the irony is that most of the covergirls' wrinkles and lines are removed using Photoshop and not Botox. When is society going to say enough is enough and quit supporting this illusion of beauty that's destroying the self-worth of our girls and even boys?

If this trend continues, we'll be left with generations of numb, expressionless zombies walking our streets, but who's responsibility is it to prevent this from happening? Should doctors refuse to administer Botox to those who don't need it or should society work on preventing the demand?
